Going Green

Well I have been lamenting the cost of diapers for many years. Recently in Colorado I talked to someone who was using cloth diapers. Now I used cloth diapers with Drew when we lived in Cote d'Ivoire. It was a mess and I did not like it. Well they have some pretty cool cloth diapers now and decided to give it another try. Actually it is an all or nothing deal cause these are pretty expensive. But after spending about $80 month on disposables and filling up the land fills with our diapers, I decided it was worth it. So now here is our happy little Zachariah. Still smiling with his Happy Heinys and Fuzzi Bunz.

That "someone" in Colorado sounds like a really wise woman...Zac looks good...I feel like you can put them in the cloth diapers and it looks less white trash than have the 'romp' around in a paper huggies...nice move...he's looking stylish.

Okay, so they're cool looking and they have clasps now, but you still have to clean them. Do you have a diaper service or do it yourself?

More powere to ya! : )

Good for you! We've been using cloth with Eli since he was about 2 months old and we love it! Our fave are actually BumGenius but we have a few FuzziBunz, too. Anytime you have questions or need some encouragement with it, let me know! You will get lots of people telling you that you are crazy but it is totally worth it!

Yeah, let me know how it is going for you. We use G Diapers, which you buy flushable inserts for, but we use cloth inserts instead. It works great for us, and was more cost effective to get started...but I am thinking about BumGenius for the next one. =)

Good job Babe! Thanks for doing the work to get started on that. And yes... these diapers are way easier than the 1950's style ones we used with Drew in Coté d'Ivoire, even considering we had a laundry guy in Cot´d'Ivoire.
Maybe the difference is that we have been elbow deep in poop for the past six years. So now cleaning a diaper seems like a small price to pay for what is better for earth and our skinny pockets.

Hi. I found your blog when I did a search for Happy Heinys. Your little one looks very cute in them! The owner of Happy Heinys often has pictures of the month and you should really send your in to her :) I think she'll love it! If you need help with diapering, please let me know.

I'm glad to see you've made the switch. Most of my friends used cloth diapers for their little ones and loved them. I plan on it whenever we have kids. Thanks for making the world a cleaner place for us all too. You rock!
